The children's programs at Central UMC are held regularly on Sunday mornings and, during the school year, on Wednesday nights. We also participate in year-round activities such as the Easter picnic and egg hunt, Back to School Festival, and more! We believe in helping children learn eternal truths, and develop faith foundations that will impact their everyday choices and actions as they grow.
Wednesday Nights
Kids meet on a weekly basis during the school year (September through December and January through May) on Wednesday nights for activities. All are invited to our Wednesday Evening Cafe' meal in the Fellowship Hall (1st floor, just behind the fountain area and elevator) at 5:15pm. At 6, after the meal, children go to the 3rd floor children's area for their programs.
Sunday Mornings - Sunday School
Children meet on the 3rd floor, in the children's area, starting at 9am. Lessons and programs are geared toward learning and living our faith and are presented in fun ways, appropriate to the developmental level of their age.
Nursery
For infants and toddlers we have a nursery (1st floor, up the ramp to the right of the Jackson St. entrance) supervised by multiple, vetted caregivers, trained to welcome and care for your child. Parents of nursery-age children must remain on Central UMC property while their children are in our care.
Central United Methodist Church follows the guidelines established by United Methodist's Safe Sanctuaries Program. Safe Sanctuaries is an intentional expression in making congregations safe places where children, youth, and elders may experience the abiding love of God and fellowship within the community of faith.
